Guiding Independence
Guiding Independence specializes in providing tailored facilitator services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to promote independence and community integration through personalized support and advocacy. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients in Northern California.
Our Founder - Patty Sanchez
Helping others has always been second nature to Patty. As a bilingual (English and Spanish) Independent Facilitator, Patty started Guiding Independence to help guide individuals and their families through the Self-Determination Program.
Her goal is to empower her clients to gain more control over the services they receive and help them achieve their hopes and dreams. Patty's advocacy and dedication to the disability community comes from her own journey as a mother of a disabled child, who is in the Self-Determination Program.
Patty's formal education is an undergraduate degree in Marketing and over a decade working in the marketing field. She received her professional training in Independent Facilitation from The Independent Facilitator Training Academy. She also received a Person-Centered Thinking Certificate from the Redwood Coast Regional Center.
Who We Support
We currently serve clients of the North Bay Regional Center and Redwood Coast Regional Center who are transitioning into the Self-Determination Program.
